Pricing titles, commodity groups etc.
Using the pricing models you can calculate the free prices and the recommended retail prices in the KNV database. KNV has united the title data of all foreign partners in one international procurement-database KNV-BG. The KNV-BG database contain prices in euros that are converted via the pricing model.
Outside areas subject to fixed book prices, for example in the South Tyrol, the stipulated prices can also be calculated as required.
Using the pricing model you can, for instance, sell non-books or games at competitive prices.
For recommended prices it is possible to add pricing models, pricing models must be added for free prices, as the free prices are not retail prices. The free prices and the recommended retail prices include value added tax.
Basic, commodity group index, commodity group, publisher and title
pcbis.de/fitbis.de provides five pricing models that build on each other:
- Use basic pricing models for complete databases to calculate the database free or recommended retail prices contained in the KNV database. You should also use the basic pricing models to calculate the prices of the international procurement-database KNV-BG. .
- Use pricing models for commodity group indices to calculate the free and recommended retail prices for a complete commodity group index contained in the KNV database.
- Use pricing models for commodity groups to calculate the free and recommended retail prices for a complete commodity group contained in the KNV database.
- Use pricing models for publishers to calculate all free and recommended retail prices for a publisher contained in the KNV database.
- Use pricing models for single titles to price titles that have free or recommended retail prices.
We recommend you to proceed from large to small, that is to start with the basic pricing models for the databases, then price individual commodity groups and titles from selected publishers and only price specific titles separately.
Indication of a price in pcbis/fitbis.de
Prior to the indication of a free or recommended price for a foreign database, pcbis.de checks which pricing model applies to the price:
- If there is a pricing model for this specific title, it is used.
- If there is a pricing model for the publisher of the title, it is used.
- If there is a pricing model for the commodity group to which the title belongs, it is used.
- If there is a pricing model for the commodity group index to which the title belongs, it is used.
- If there is only a basic pricing model, it is used.
If a pricing model has not been added, all prices as saved in the databases are indicated. As the free prices are however the prices at which you procure the titles from the suppliers, it is imperative you add pricing models for the free prices!
